The County of San Mateo's Department of Housing (DOH) is pleased to announce the issuance of the following Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA): State Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program.

DOH was selected by the State of California as the Administrative Entity for the State of California ESG funding allocated to the County. DOH invites applications for eligible activities to address homelessness under the State Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program. Under State Regulation 8403(i), the County of San Mateo is required to award no less than 40% of available State ESG funding to Rapid Rehousing. The remaining funds will be available to support emergency shelter operations as described in the NOFA Overview.

AMENDMENT TO NOFA (4/11/18): On Friday, April 6, 2018, DOH received notice from the State of California of administrative and programmatic changes to the ESG Program. Due to these changes, only the State’s federal allocation for the ESG program will be made available in this NOFA. The State’s own ESG program is currently under modification and funds will be made available later this year.

Please refer to the “FY2018-19 NOFA: State ESG Amendment” below for further information. All other NOFA guidelines and requirements remain unchanged.

Note: Applications will be submitted online through City Data Services. Instructions for submitting the application are included in the NOFA Overview.

Application Due Date: 5:00 PM on Friday, May 4, 2018.
